Speaker: Afshin Ziafat

Afshin Ziafat was born in Houston, TX, but moved with his family to their native country of Iran when he was 2 years old. In the midst of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Afshin’s family moved back to Houston, and in the second grade, Afshin was given a Bible. He would not read that Bible until 10 years later as a senior in high school, and would then come to faith in Christ.

His conversion to Christianity was only the beginning. Ultimately, his family would disown him because of his faith.

Currently, Afshin resides in Frisco, TX, with his wife, Meredith. He is the Lead Pastor of Providence Church in Frisco, TX, and travels worldwide proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He even travels to the Middle East regularly to train Iranian pastors.

Music: Rush of Fools

Widely known for their pure heart in leading worship, Rush of Fools has become a favorite in the realm of Christian music. Rush of Fools originated out of Birmingham, Alabama and burst onto the scene of Christian radio when their song “Undo” became the most played in 2007. The name Rush of Fools was taken from the Biblical passage, 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 – “For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Currently, Rush of Fools travels the world leading worship in a variety of scenes, and we at YM360 are privileged to call them friends.

PARENT/CAMPER Meeting - Sunday, June 9

GENERATE Camps are strategic and intentional to create experiences where the name of Jesus is lifted up, where the Gospel is proclaimed through the preaching and studying of the Word, and where not only are students encouraged to take the next step in their faith journey, but the challenge and opportunity to be a person of global impact is clear. These experiences happen in times of personal devotion, in small group times of reading, listening and responding, in group/community building and serving, in times of corporate worship, and in strategic times with your church group.

In the end, a camp can’t really change a life, but a real experience with God can. We don’t want to simply create moments, we want to partner with you and through the work of God be a part of moments that matter.
